AMY'S PHOTOS FROM HER COLUMBIAN "ADVENTURES"
(These Photos are on FaceBook)

This morning I went on a boat tour of the area (pointless since it was in Spanish)--then spent the rest of the day on a beautiful island. This picture shows us arriving at the island (This is after the lack of documentation incident.) The woman who picked me up at my hotel and helped our group get on the boat etc., was concerned about my well being--for some reason she felt it was necessary to single me out and scream for me very loudly. Even in Colombia I get in trouble by random figures of authority.

Chilling in a hammock

I went on a snorkeling tour... this isn't me, but it's close enough.

Back on the beach

Getting on the boat ready to go back to the hotel and begin adventure of the day number 2.

Chivas are party buses... a bus with a bunch of people drinking (bus driver included I'm sure)... there's a band and lots of singing and butt and maraca shaking... and it stops at random clubs.. very fun. This also started as a disaster. First I showed up at the hotel to get on the Chiva without my receipt. So after a very frustrating translation drama I had to return to the hotel to get my receipt. So I come back, get on the bus... but apparently it was the wrong bus. I figured this out when our bus pulls over and a woman walking down the street starts calling my name. I was escorted from that Chiva onto another Chiva. That turned out to be the best thing though because this huge family of Colombians adopted me and took care of me the entire time. I have videos of the Chiva--but I'll updoad them later.

My Chiva family

The teenage members of my family--the one of the far left could speak English so he became my translator.

Not only did this fabulous woman pour me Ron (Rum) on the bus and introduce me to her family--she also saved me from being trampled by a horse. I liked her.

An outside view of the Chiva.
