Tuesday Amy helped us all day
and took home clothes & towels to wash.
(And it rained again - but no flooding.)
Tuesday night Sheldon came to help us
and deal with all his stuff.

Wednesday early (6:00am) we continued throwing out stuff.
Hundreds and hundreds of childrens books.
The toys we washed and put in the backyard to dry.
And cut out the carpet parts that weren't beneath anything.

First load was picked up Wednesday at 5:30

sofa bed (in pieces)
Wednesday evening Eric and Jennifer came to help us.
They had to tear the sofa bed apart to get it out.
We threw out lots of stuff.
Then Sheldon came to help again.
Then Laura and Michael came with fan and wet vac and
towels and cleaning stuff.
(The Dearborn renters didn't need them.)
Then Amy stopped by with Parker so he could see everybody.
Everyone stayed really late (except Amy and Parker)
We threw out lots of furniture and stuff.
And moved the shelves and other stuff off the remaining
carpet and got all the carpet out.
There were lots of totes and things fulled with water to be emptied.
There had been a lot of things on the floor and
the bottom 2 shelves had to be empty and stuff
tossed or dried and kept.
Laura took home a lot of clothes, & blankets, and quilts to wash.
(We of course have no hot water.)
There's a lot more drying to do tomorrow and all the floors to clean.
But the major big jobs were acomplished today.
THANK YOU EVERYONE !!!

second load - Thursday morning
Thursday: Neighbor turned on the hot water : )
But washer and dryer do not work : (
Laura & Michael came back to help us again Thursday night.
We threw out more stuff and clean up more standing water.
Now all the water is finally gone!!!

growing second load - Friday morning
Amy helped us on Friday

Saturday Laura and Michael came
and pulled off all the paneling.
And they started taking out the
wood studs along the walls.
Ricky and Ben came after
Ben's last baseball game.
They threw out lots more stuff
Then Amy came to help too!
Laura did lots & lots of cleaning !!!

Now you can see through the walls : )

Saturday: The pile is getting bigger.

Sunday morning - view from the other side.
Sunday:
Laura and Mike were here all day again.
Michael fixed the electricity
(there were plugs in the walls they tore down.)
and Laura cleaned and disinfected.
And we threw out more stuff

ONE WEEK LATER
Monday:
Ripped up the rest of the tile.
Walls are all disinfected except bathroom and
behind washer and dryer.
Shelves are all back in place (some in new places).
Amy tore up tile while I watched Parker.
Then Amy and I moved shelves while Grandpa watched Parker.
Mike and Laura came after work.
They finished the tiles and walls.
Laura took home all the dirty towels to wash again.

Both the dryer and washer need to be replaced.

Hot water heater works.
Will find out about the furnace in Wednesday.

Tuesday:
Dentist and Sams Club and Home Depot and Lowe's.
And cleaning and getting (non wet) things ready for "Good Will".

Wednesday:
We need a new furnace but meanwhile we can use the AC.
"Good Will" picked up stuff. And the living room got vacuumed.
Amy came over to help me put up the Sam's Club shelves.
Everything is now moved out of the formally
paneled and carpeted room. The room is "bleached".
Now we still have to do behind the "broken" washer and dryer.
And the bathroom.
And lots of stuff is still upstairs waiting to be sorted out
and carried back downstairs and put away.

Friday I babysit while Amy takes "Grandpa" to the hospital
to have some of his bleeding stomach polyps removed.
and
Monday Amy goes back to work
and we start babysitting for Parker again.

Parker has been here a lot this week. He's "used to" us again.

Thursday:
Shopping looking at washers and dryers.
More cleaning and sorting and carrying stuff back downstairs.
Getting the house ready to babysit for Parker tomorrow.

Friday:
Surgery went fine.
"Multiple gastric polyps. Resected and retrieved.
Five hemostatic clips were successfully placed.
Repeat the upper endoscopy in 2/3 months for retreatment."

Saturday:
Went to the store and ordered new washer and dryer.
Pulled the old ones out and cleaned behind them.
Set up new shelf for toys and old shelf for tools.
Carried stuff downstairs. Threw out chairs.

Sunday:
Did the last of the bleaching/cleaning: the bathroom
Cleaned the upstairs for Parker.
Carried toy boxes back down stiars.
And made it to Bailey's 10th Birthday Party

THANK YOU!! ! to everyone who helped us.
Especially to Laura and Michael who "saved are lives" : )
