Grandma (Sharron) & Grandpa (Harry) Lerman's
Visit to Detroit, Michigan

Grandma  lived here at 681 Clairmont Avenue
until she was 6 years old with her grandparents,
parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins!
{In 1930 her father lived with his family at
 9149 Delmar St one mile from here.---1930 census}

She lived upstairs here at 3812 Tyler Avenue
until she was 12 years old

Grandma lived upstairs here on Wager Street 
from the age of 12 to 15

And then she lived here on 2655 Glendale Avenue
(upstairs again) until she was 21
and married Grandpa

When Great-Grandpa Lerman came to this country he lived
here with his Uncle Pincus Lerman on 9323 McQuade Ave &
later when he got married with Great-Grandma Lerman, too

Grandpa lived on Edison Ave.
(the house is no longer there--this is the house
next door that looks like Grandpa's house)
He lived here with his parents and sister, Florence,
and later on his little baby brother (Uncle Sheldon)
He lived here from age 4 to 16

And then they moved to  3264 Tyler Avenue
where Grandpa lived from age 16 to 25
when he married Grandma
(This is the first house his family owned: cost $14,000)

Grandma went to here to Shaarey Zedek Synagogue
for confirmation and Hebrew School


Brady School where Grandpa and his sister Florence, 
went to elementary school

MacCulloch School  where  Grandma
(and Uncle Sheldon) went to elementary  school

Durfee where Grandma & Grandpa & Aunt Florence
 & Uncle Sheldon went to junior high school

Central High School where Grandma & Grandpa
& Aunt Florence went to high school

This is the field where Grandpa played baseball
(behind Brady Elementary School)

On the 2nd floor of this building is a bowling alley
where Grandpa bowled and hung out with his buddies.
Grandma's dentist was also in this building
(Corner of Dexter Ave. and Boston Blvd.)

This is where the Riviera Movie Theater
(parking lot) used to be where Grandpa went
to the movies every Saturday afternoon
(the theater is no longer there)

When Grandma and Grandpa got married they
lived on Chicago Blvd. in one of these apartments

Then they moved to theVotrobeck Apartments 
where they lived until they moved to
Los Angeles California in1960

Winship School where Grandma taught school
for 4 years from 1957 through 1960

The Fisher Building were Grandma & Grandpa
used to go to the movies
(The first floor of the Fisher Building is like a mall)
