Luma and I went on a bus tour
of the city.  (The same tour bus
that was going to leave me
because I forgot my camera.
I literally had to chase the bus
down the street with Luma
screaming for me from the
upper deck.)  This is a statue
in Plaza de Piadade.

A government building--Salvador
has very unique architectu
re from
the turn of the century
(or something like that).

People also tie these ribbons called fita do sentior do bomfin all over the church and make wishes.

The “butt statue” in Mercado Modelo
(I'm sure that's not the official name.)

The statues of Orixás, deities of the Candomblé

religion, in the Dique do Toror.

The police on horseback -- The ocean is to the right, Luma's apartment is to the left.

Ricardo excited because his favorite Brazilian basketball team won the championship.   (We were at the mall when Brazil beat the USA in soccer.)

Luma excited because she purchased a purse

Hilary and her new purse

Luma and Carrie at Cocobahia.
It's a “real” Rainforest Cafe!

Hilary bought a car and we drove to Praia do Forte--
a cool little tourist/resort-like town.
This is a beautiful rainbow we saw on the way.
